    • On location in clients’ homes, schools and communities
  • Part-time (beginning at 5-hours weekly) or Full-time (40+ hours weekly)

Job Description for Direct Therapists and Case Managers:

  • Clientele
    • Primarily elementary to high school ages (ranging from 3-to-21-years)
    • Most clients are on Individual Education Programs (IEPs), 504 plans or are involved with “Response to Intervention” evaluations
    • Developmental Disabilities (e.g., Autism Spectrum, Genetic Anomalies, cognitive impairments, etc.)
    • Individuals struggling with a range of issues within their (IEPs), such as academic, behavioral, or therapeutic struggles
    • And/or Mental Health issues (e.g., behavior disorders (Oppositional Defiant Disorders), anxiety, social struggles, depression, etc.)
  • Behavioral/Developmental/Educational Evaluations
    • Functional Behavioral/Developmental Evaluations are commonly needed
    • Formal testing with a range of appropriate evaluation tools is much less common, but a plus if you can administer these
    • Home program evaluations and development
    • Report writing with heavy emphasis on both functional evaluations and/or behavioral/therapeutic support plans
  • Development of Behavioral and/or Developmental Support Plans based on:
    • Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
    • Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) (we are NOT extreme in our use of ABA methodologies, but see some utility)
    • Positive Psychology
    • Special Education and instructional approaches
  • Social Development Instruction and Therapy
    • Social Thinking Curricula (e.g., Michelle Garcia-Winner)
    • Developing social stories & videos
    • Developing and managing child-specific peer social groups
    • Circles Program (e.g., Leslie Walker-Hirsch) about relationships
  • Consultation to Families & School Boards
    • Home Program Development
    • Family Counseling
    • School observations and consultations (e.g., participating in the IEP process)
    • Case Manager helping the family to organize the extremely varied numbers of activities and team members involved with the child
  • “Mind Care” LLC
    • Managing the use of on-line developmental and mental health questionnaires
    • “Virtual” case-management consultation to distanced clients
    • Need for comfort in having ongoing relationships with clients through telephone, email, Skype, Facetime, and text communications
